My husband loves mustache’s…he is obsessed with Brian Wilson with the SF Giants because of his beard.  I’m not sure what it is about facial hair that is so amazing to him…I think most beards look like misplaced pubic hair haha.  But…for my sweet husband, I made a Mustache Pillow!  :D

I ordered an iron-on mustache off of Etsy, I bought a cheap on-sale pillow from Wal-Mart.  Spent less than $10 and I get to give myself credit for “making” it.  The best part is that I saved money!  My favorite mustache pillow on Etsy was $55 + shipping.  My second favorite was $17 + shipping.  To me, that’s a lot of money to spend on a throw pillow.  So…I found a way to make it work with our budget.  And I had fun!  :)  My husband loves it, he’s also super proud that I found a frugal way to make a “must-have” decoration, and I got to CRAFT!  Win, Win, Win!  :) XO’s  Have a great day!

Punkin :)

This is a sampling of our perfect day.  We did hire a professional photographer who was AMAZING and would blow you away with the images she captured.  However, I do not have the rights to those pictures, so we’ll have to make due with images that some guests captured on their personal cameras.  :)  And that’s okay.  We were married on 09-10-11 at a plantation in South Carolina.  We were married on the only weekend of the month that it didn’t rain (and the reason it didn’t rain is because our wedding weekend was the only weekend our area was without tropical storms or hurricanes!).  We were very blessed to have such perfect weather!

I am posting these pictures because I admit, I want to brag a little on how AMAZING it all was!  But I also want you to please take note of allllllll the orange fabric you see.  The aisle cloth…hanging from the ceilings, dressing up tables, etc.  We have over 200 feet of left-over aisle cloth that cost about $10 per foot… even if I wasn’t such a crafty person, I wouldn’t be able to throw away such expensive fabric.   Not to mention, wedding fabric!  So I’d like to ask you all for advice…what should I do with all of the left over fabric?!  So far, I’ve made a cape for my Chihuahua with it & a lampshade.  Tada…but I need better ideas.  Help!  XO’s!

When you think of vintage tattoos, what do you think of?  I am working on some ideas for my next piece.  I’m so obsessed with vintage everything right now, a vintage tattoo would only be fitting, right?  So what do you think of?

Roses?

Anchors?

A heart with the word “Mom” through it?

Something cooler…

I love crafts…I love scrapbooks…I love my husband!

I want to make us a wedding anniversary journal so that every year, when we celebrate our perfect wedding day, we can document what we did, where we went, and how we celebrated!  Any suggestions as to what some of the prompts might be?!

:D XO’s

So mustaches are a pretty big deal right now, apparently.  I totally missed that…I knew already that my husband thinks they are pretty much the coolest thing to ever be on his face (with the exception of my boobs, obviously).  I was, however, unaware that the entire world is having an affair with misplaced pubic hair - er, i mean “the mustache.”

I found a blog post (can’t remember where) about using mix-matched pillows to give your home an eclectic vibe.  Well, I love the idea of living in an eclectic home!  My husband and I both like some pretty strange things.  (He likes some REALLY weird things).  We are living in the house I grew up in, and several years ago my parents hired a professional interior designer to decorate their home.  I love it…the house and all of the furniture inside is GORGEOUS.  But…(and this is a big ol, J-Lo sized “butt”) it doesn’t reflect US.  I want our home to be our favorite place in the world.  I want us to be surrounded by things we think are beautiful (in their own quirky way.)    It has been a challenge, because getting rid of beautiful things is never easy.  But we are slowly making the home OURS and that is beautiful.  :)

So..back to THE ‘STACHE.  I found these adorable pillows that are shaped like giant mustaches.  Expensive.  :(  When I say expensive, I mean.. a $55 pillow.  Reeee-dik-a-LUS!  But for you all you fancy pants out there with money to blow, check out this awesome pillow:  http://www.etsy.com/listing/74158336/mustache-body-pillow-suede?ref=sr_gallery_19&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=mustache+pillow&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

So I decided to search for normal shaped pillows with a mustache ON IT.  Still cute.  Cheaper.  But…still, too expensive.  I mean, maybe I’m crazy.  Maybe I’m the lone ranger here, but I THINK that $17 + shipping is too much to spend on a throw pillow.  But I did just love this one…    http://www.etsy.com/listing/81227299/funny-green-pillow-mustache-appliqued?ref=sr_gallery_20&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=mustache+pillow&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

Now, to me, this wicked ‘stache looks a lot like an iron-on.  So, I searched on Etsy for mustache iron-ons!  And I found one!  It was only 1.99 plus shipping, so it ended up being like $2.50 I think.  I went to Wal-Mart, found a cheap pillow that’s like $8 or $9 and when the ‘stache comes in, I will iron it and VOILA!  A cheaper version, in the colors that I want it to be in, and I named-my-own-price!  It was almost like shopping for car insurance.  Almost.  :)   My hubster is SUPER excited and VERY proud of me for not spending almost $60 on a throw pillow.. and for using my creative brain to find a cheaper & better solution!  He is very tight with money, & we don’t have a whole lot of it…so having a creative brain is very useful right now!  :)

Aaaaand I promise to post pictures of my finished product!  Thank you, come again! XO’s!
